Itinerary
Pick up from Bagdogra Airport at 2.00 PM and immediately proceed to Gangtok directly. (Approx. 120 km / 5 hours) Gangtok, adorned with colorful and beautiful flower gardens, is the capital of Sikkim and a cool hill station located at an altitude of 5500 feet above sea level. After check-in at the hotel, relax and enjoy yourself. (For pick-up of tourists arriving after 2 PM, the tourist will have to pay approximately Rs. 5000 to 5500 extra per vehicle.) If you have a personal vehicle during your trip, then there will be no time limit for any kind of pick-up and drop.
After breakfast, leave Gangtok for Changu Lake and Baba Temple. (Approx. 55 km. 3 hours hill road) Depending on the weather conditions, if this place or road is closed due to snowfall, landslides, traffic jams or other alternative sightseeing will be arranged. Changu Lake is located at an altitude of 12310 feet and Baba Temple is located at an altitude of 13200 feet, visit to Nathula Pass at your own expense. (Closed every Monday)
After breakfast, check out of the hotel in Gangtok and pack all the warm clothes and only two pairs of clothes and leave for Lachung. (Approx. 110 km. 6 hours – Hill Road) Lachung, located in the northern part of the state of Sikkim, is located at an altitude of 8700 feet. After visiting various waterfalls on the way to Lachung, arrive at the hotel in Lachung and relax.
After breakfast, leave for Yumthang Valley. Yumthang is a very cold hill station located at an altitude of 12000 feet and surrounded by snow-capped mountains on all sides. It is also called the Valley of Flowers. (Tourists who want to go further than Yumthang to a place called Zero Point will have to pay extra for it.) After lunch in Lachung, leave for Gangtok. (Approx. 110 km. 6 hours - Hill Road)
After breakfast, visit the sights of Gangtok including Benzakhari Water Fall, Namchi (Chardham) and Tea Garden, then proceed to Pelling. (Approx. 150 km. / 5 hours – Hill Road) Pelling is a beautiful and picturesque hill station located at an altitude of 6300 feet. (If you want to go to Ravangala (Buddha Temple), you will have to pay extra money separately.)
After breakfast, visit Sky Walk with Chenrezi Statue, Pemyangsti Monastery, Rabdentsi Ruins, Bird Sanctuary and then depart from Pelling to Darjeeling. (Approx. 80 km. / 3 hours – Hill Road)
Reach Tiger Hill by vehicle at 4:00 AM and enjoy the thrilling beauty of sunrise, coming in third place in the world in height and having a height of 28208 feet above sea level, located in Nepal and visible from India and bathed in gold by the first golden rays of the Sun God, Kanchenjunga mountain range, enjoying the wonderful beauty of snowy peaks and visiting Gurkha War Memorial (Batasia Loop), returning to the hotel, getting ready after tea and breakfast, immediately visit the sights of Darjeeling such as Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Zoo (closed every Thursday), Tenzin Rock, Tibetan Refugee Centre, Tea Garden and other places and relax or do some voluntary sightseeing. (Toy train will have to be booked from the IRCTC website after 3 pm at your own expense and at your own convenience.)
After breakfast in the morning, the trip ends with a drop from Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport. Book a flight or train after 12 noon. (Approx. 90 km / 4 hours - Hill Road) If your vehicle is shared, then after breakfast at 6 am, it will be dropped at Bagdogra Airport. If the traveller needs to travel by train or plane at other times, he will have to pay an extra Rs. 5000 to 5500 for the vehicle.

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.
On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.
The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.
Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.
No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.
Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason.
It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.
For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
